Although you can blame busy life, children, work, lack of sleep and long displacements, gray hair is something that really happens naturally with age.
You can notice a pair of gray hairs that spread quickly as the years go by.
Instead of using a hair dye or visiting the hairdresser, you can try a natural remedy to darken the hair slowly: with potato / potato peels.
The starch in potato peels acts as a natural dye that helps cover gray hair slowly in a matter of weeks or months.
Things you will need to do it:
- 5-6 medium and large potatoes.
- Big pot.
- Strainer.
- Large bowl
- Old shampoo bottle.
- Moisturizing shampoo and conditioner.
- Towel
Step 1
Remove the peels of five or six medium and large potatoes. Leave the meat of the potato aside and place the peels in a large pot. Fill the pot with water 1.8 liters (1/2 gallon). Put the pot on a high heat. Let the shells boil for 20 to 30 minutes.
Step 2
Pour the potato peels through a strainer over a large bowl. Save the water and throw away the potato peels. Let the potato infusion water cool completely before pouring it into an old shampoo bottle, it must be clean.
Step 3
Wash and condition the hair with moisturizing products. Since gray hair is drier and more fragile, it is important to nourish your hair with additional moisture. Leave your hair in the air for a minute or two before rinsing it.
Step 4
Pour the water of potato skin over your hair in the shower, and do not rinse it. Get out of the shower and with a towel dry your hair according to the style of your hair as you would do as usual.
Step 5
Repeat the wash with the infusion of potato peel water on the washed and conditioned hair about two or three times a week, for several weeks or months, or until you are satisfied with the results.
